“This past week has been incredible. I got to help with the elasmobranch survey where I caught a small dark shyshark! On Friday Mary took me to see a colony of African penguins in Betty’s Bay which was so much fun and the penguins are adorable. I was also able to go on a hike in Fernkloof Nature Reserve where the views were breathtaking. This weekend got to experience some of the local nightlife which was definitely an interesting experience. I am looking forward to bungee jumping at Bloukrans and many more adventures in the remaining two weeks of my volunteering experience.” – Katie Janeczko
