Research Papers

Research Papers: The following findings were published to date in peer-reviewed scientific journals as a result of the ongoing partnership between the Shark & Marine Research Institute, Stellenbosch University, and the Department of Environment, Forestry, and Fishery (Branch Oceans and Coasts) (IF – impact factor indicated in bold). Stellenbosch University and the Shark & Marine Research Institute, supported by White Shark Diving Company, is an 8 year old collaboration that has supported the careers of many early career scientists. The scientific research achievements have been considerable and has enabled better decision making for the management of sharks at a governmental level, leading to greater protection for our over exploited and vulnerable shark species. Read on to learn about the research papers published and the amazing findings! Please contact us directly to receive copies of the papers published in closed access journals. Go to our apply page to join our volunteer shark research programme to gain valuable experience in the field.
